Week of Workouts: 8/19 – 8/25

Tuesday – Pilates

  • Lolo Jones Legs ‘n Lunges Challenge - Holy hard, Batman!  I sucked pretty hardcore at this one… jumping lunges may or may not be the new bane of my existence.  I think my new exercise goal is to be able to get through this video without stopping.
  • Fabulous Flat Abs for Beginners – I really like the exercises in this video, but it is definitely for beginners.  For me, this would be a great video to utilize if I’m super sore from another workout or on a recovery day.
  • Trafalgar Trimdown Toner – This one was nice & short, but effective.  I hate pushups & working my shoulders, but I pushed through it!

I was going to do one more, but I woosed out.

Wednesday – Running

1.85 miles in 14:38 for a pace of 7:55.  This was an interval run, which I haven’t done in a long time.  I LOVE interval runs, so I’m not sure why I don’t do them more.  My intervals were 1 minute slow and 30 seconds fast.  I repeated that 8 times, with an additional 1 minute slow tacked on at the end.  My slow is probably a 9:30 pace or so… and my fast isn’t a full out sprint.  During the fast intervals, I really try to focus on my form… chest forward, shoulders down, long strides.  Feels great to let go and run fast!
On Saturday, we had a big charity carnival at work.  I spent the day setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, game booths and a 200 pound portable 8 burner grill.  That would be my third day of exercise, thankyouverymuch.
